I have put letter writing on the back burner for quite some time now. Life got too busy, too crazy.
I can say though, that I have missed it.
Since we moved I have been making Tuesdays my day to visit my mom. She lives 55 minutes from my house and so I make a day of it. We run errands, have lunch, and I get some things done for her that she often needs help with. Last week we went to a thrift store and I found a rack full of notecards for just .25 each! Such lovely cards!!

This is the perfect reason to get back into my letter writing. I found this quote perfect for the moment as well.
I think I became a writer because I used to write letters to my friends, and I used to love writing them. I loved the idea that you can put marks on a page and send it off, and two days later, someone laughs somewhere else in the world.

I have said often that I love to send mail because I put a smile on someone’s face somewhere else in the world. You are sending a smile through the postal service. Who doesn’t like a hand-written note when they open the mailbox.
So, now that I am settled ( enough anyway), it is time to make Wednesdays my day to send smiles and hugs through the post. Time to renew my perpetual calendar of dates to remember. If you’d like to join me you can download the perpetual calendar I shared long ago and print it out as a reminder of whose special day is approaching. Or if you’d like you can check out this list of letter writing prompts I found on another blog! They are great ideas!
Won’t you join me and send a smile today?
