Oh! This one is one of my favorites.
This beautiful hymn, as mentioned yesterday, was written in the 1930’s in the midst of terrible times. Glory to God for All Things! What a tool of gratefulness, a tool to open our eyes to His beauty all around.
This one here, the 2nd Kontakion and Ikos are my favorite. So vividly descriptive.

“O Lord, how lovely it is to be Thy guest” when we are able to awaken our senses to You. When we are able to smell the breezes, see the mountains reaching tall and majestic, hear the songs on the wind. I am so grateful for this yearning in my soul.

When we are awake it is truly a “pleasure to be Thy guest.” May we always seek these treasures in life.
The second stanza finishes with this…
Glory to Thee for the Feast Day of life
Glory to Thee for the perfume of lilies and roses
Glory to Thee for each different taste of berry and fruit
Glory to Thee for the sparkling silver of early morning dew
Glory to Thee for the joy of dawn’s awakening
Glory to Thee for the new life each day brings
Glory to Thee, O God, from age to age
Glory to Thee, O God, from age to age, I magnify Thee!
Blessed 2nd day of Thanksgiving Week. What are you thankful for today?
