One of the things I have discovered I need to do is seek to see God all around. When trying to remember the joy of the Resurrection it helps to remember God is “every where present and filling all things”.
When reading Psalm 18/19:1 I was reminded of this fact.
I have tried to become focused on seeing God in the natural world around me. I pray each day, “Open my eyes to see You in all of creation around me and in all those I greet. May I marvel daily at Your glory.”
Doing this has really helped me a great deal in becoming more positive and joy-filled. Because when you learn to remove the scales slowly from your eyes it is truly amazing how beautiful everything becomes.
May we see the glory of God and His handiwork all around us! May we marvel in it today!
I am an Orthodox Christian, a deacon’s wife, a mother, and an aspiring Kindler of Joy.
I believe I’ve begun to understand (finally), by the grace of God, where we can begin to find happiness. True happiness. My heart longs for a deeper connection to those around me and to creation. I want to feel joy not only in myself but to see it on the face of people I love and those that God brings my way.
Thus, begins my journey to become a Kindler of Joy. It is a journey, a path of learning and growing. So I’ve created my blog as a reminder to myself, daily, to open my eyes and find the beauty and joy around me. I long to share this joy, to spread this joy and to inspire others to become Kindlers of Joy. When we kindle joy in others we spread a light throughout this dark world. A light that is desperately needed.
Won't you join me in spreading this light, this joy?
