It’s no secret, I love bees! I love bees and flowers, sunflowers most particularly. If you’ve been reading my blog from the get-go you’ll know it’s because bees and flowers serve as a reminder that we need to “Be like the Bee”, rather then the fly.
I’ve posted on several occasions attesting to this.
I’ve tried to bring into my life the physical reminder of bees as much as I can. I want to “Be like the Bee” more than anything in the world. I want to see the beauty all around and ignore the trash. Bees make me happy.
All this talk about bees so I can bring up St. Paisios again.
I shared about him on March 20th of this year. St. Paisios is best known for his story about there being 2 kinds of people in life. Here is the short version of that story if you’ve not heard it before:
As I have come to understand, some people resemble the honeybee and some resemble the fly. Those who resemble the fly seek to find evil in every circumstance and are preoccupied with it; they see no good anywhere. But those who resemble the honeybee only see the good in everything they see. The stupid person thinks stupidly and takes everything in the wrong way, whereas the person who has good thoughts, no matter what he sees, no matter what you tell him, maintains a positive and good thought.
The reason I bring this up again is because I’ve come across a lovely way to bring this quote into your life on a daily basis. That is, besides printing this out…
No, I found a better way. An awesome, useful way to be reminded of this story and to be the bee!
My friend Abigail has created a mug with this quote on it and she sells it on Etsy. You can find it here. Who doesn’t love a good mug for your morning coffee or tea? And what a great way to start your day…a daily reminder to be the bee instead of the fly!
Go Be the Bee my friends! Bring a smile to someones face today! Hug a friend or kiss your spouse! Blessings to you my joys, have a happy weekend!
