We just got back from a big family camping trip. It was so wonderful and fun! But this explains my silence.
Praise the Lord from the heavens;
Praise Him in the heights!
Praise Him, all His angels;
Praise Him, all His hosts!
Praise Him, sun and moon;
Praise Him, all you stars of light!
Praise Him, you heavens of heavens,
And you waters above the heavens!
There was much to behold!
Let them praise the name of the Lord,
For He commanded and they were created.
He also established them forever and ever;
He made a decree which shall not pass away.
Praise the Lord from the earth,
You great sea creatures and all the depths;
Fire and hail, snow and clouds;
Stormy wind, fulfilling His word;
Mountains and all hills;
Fruitful trees and all cedars;
Beasts and all cattle;
Creeping things and flying fowl;
Kings of the earth and all peoples;
Princes and all judges of the earth;
Both young men and maidens;
Old men and children.
We went with my sister-in-law and her family. She and I hiked every single day putting in a total of 24-27 miles. Our phones gave varying distances.
There is no better way to witness God’s handiwork than to walk this beautiful earth. I am so very grateful for this inspiring week of travel. I am incredibly grateful to have spent the last 5 days with these wonderful people who are so dear to me.
The guys did some fishing. They brought in 8-9 fish every day! It was very exciting.
I did, however, miss 2 of my own beautiful children who either decided to stay home or couldn’t go. It was our very first family camping trip that was missing some of our family. My heart was a little sad. I know as time marches on this will become more frequent until we 2 alone (James and I) will be camping often. This is sad but also exciting to enter a new phase of life. Glory to God for all things!
Let them praise the name of the Lord,
For His name alone is exalted;
His glory is above the earth and heaven.
And He has exalted the horn of His people,
The praise of all His saints—
Of the children of Israel,
A people near to Him.Psalm 148
Awesome, Susie.. I am so glad you got a good restful vacation!!!!

HA! After hiking 24+ miles I’m not sure “restful” is the right word. But it was a wonderful vacation! I’m looking forward to more.
