“To write is human, to get mail: Divine!”
― Susan Lendroth (children’s author)
It truly is divine to receive a handwritten piece of love in the mail. It spreads joy across the miles.
Late last week I created a little nook for myself where I can sit and write. Whether it be letters or cards, or writing in my journal, this is a nice little spot for me. It is on the 2nd floor and overlooks my garden (which is a mess right now) and my chickens. The cubby was a piece my dad gave me 20 years ago and apparently handmade by my grandfather. I love it and it is a perfect place to keep all my various cards and stationary sorted.
I have sent many Easter cards over the last week and I am still sending Pascha (Eastern Orthodox Easter) cards this week. It is so fun! Christ is Risen!
Were you able to send Easter/Pascha cards this year?
I am an Orthodox Christian, a deacon’s wife, a mother, and an aspiring Kindler of Joy.
I believe I’ve begun to understand (finally), by the grace of God, where we can begin to find happiness. True happiness. My heart longs for a deeper connection to those around me and to creation. I want to feel joy not only in myself but to see it on the face of people I love and those that God brings my way.
Thus, begins my journey to become a Kindler of Joy. It is a journey, a path of learning and growing. So I’ve created my blog as a reminder to myself, daily, to open my eyes and find the beauty and joy around me. I long to share this joy, to spread this joy and to inspire others to become Kindlers of Joy. When we kindle joy in others we spread a light throughout this dark world. A light that is desperately needed.
Won't you join me in spreading this light, this joy?
