Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
This scripture from First Peter 4 was the epistle reading yesterday. I love the terminology used, “fiery trial”. This passage, (4:12,13) reiterates the fact that this world will not be without trials.
Last week in the Epistle reading of James we read, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”
Again, we see that the outcome of trials should be a very good thing…joy, and more, patience!

As we go through “fiery trials”, let us keep our eyes on the One Who walked through them first, Who suffered for our sake, that He may be glorified, and we may be filled with exceeding joy!
Blessings to you as we head into a beautiful weekend!
