Welcome to Sunday, the Lord’s day. The day we are reminded that Christ is Risen. Everyday. He has conquered death.
I love Sundays.
One of my favorite parts of the hymnography for the Resurrection is that over and over again we hear how Christ has conquered death. He has brought light from darkness. It is beautiful to think about, especially if we have lost a loved one. If we believe in the Resurrection, we believe death is conquered, overthrown and life reigns. The separation is difficult, yes, but Life Reigns!
One of the hymns we sing today caught my attention because of the words used. The description is vivid.
“…raised all the dead from the valleys of misery with His mighty hand, He bestowed resurrection on the human race.”
What a description of hades!
“He is the Savior of all, the Resurrection, the Life, and the God of all.”
Let us shout with joy….Christ is Risen! Today! Just as we sing it on the first day of the Pascha.
